Here he inspires with a lovely poster for Silvaplana in the Engadin, which Stoecklin has realised with perfect attention to detail. this is the first edition of this image, finley printed as lithograph by Fretz Bros. Zurich in 1944.

Stoecklin’s first teacher in Basel was Burkhard Mangold who heavily influenced his style. He studied at the Basel School of Arts and Craft and created his first ‘object poster’ in 1922.
