About this poster

Viktor Rutz (Ruzo) was a master of poster design for consumer products. His object posters featured the advertised product or figure as the central focus of his design with the goal of creating the best possible advertising effect, often using colourful light effects. A number of his posters from the 1940s and 1950s for consumer products are available for auction. Among them is this poster for Klosters with the smiling blonde woman, which was designed in 1935 and hung in 1936. Next year, a comprehensive publication will be released as a tribute to the graphic design works of the self-educated Rutz, who retired from poster design in 1948.
