Two fashionable ski tourists watch a ski racer on his descent; beyond them lies the snow-covered village of Engelberg with its monastery in the background. This idyllic design by Otto Ernst was used to advertise the 24th Swiss Ski Championships, which were held in Engelberg in 1930.

Otto ERNST was born in 1884 in he Swiss canton of Aargau. After his apprenticeship as a graphic designer, he studied in Florence and in Paris where in 1910 he became a student of Eugène Grasset at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
