About this poster

Gstaad (1010 m) is appreciated by its old, stylish and discreet establishment, a charming place in the Bernese Oberland with its chalet style hotels and chalet apartments. Gstaad is better known for its residents than for its skiing and is popular with non-skiers who like to play the “who’s that with the sunglasses” game as they sit around in restaurants, at the swimming pool or stroll up and down the main street. Art Deco posters with beautiful images of Gstaad - like this 1931 lithograph by the famous Alex Diggelmann - have become rare and are among the most sought-after.
