About this poster
This poster by Celestino Piatti initially read “Bier beschwingt” (which could be translated as “beer puts you in high spirits”). However, it was pulped and reprinted with the traditional slogan “Bier ist etwas Gutes” (“beer is a good thing”) before being displayed. (Reference: So nicht - Umstrittene Plakate in der Schweiz, 2009).

Celestino Piatti was born in 1922 in Wangen, Switzerland and died in 2007. He was educated at the Kunstgewerbeschule (Art School) in Zurich and did an apprenticeship as a graphic designer.
