In 1999 Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones took off in Château d’Oex and made the first non-stop balloon flight around the world with a Rozière balloon, landing in Egypt on 21 March after 20 days and 40,805 km. In 1922, Château d’Oex opened the Musée du Vieux Pays-d’Enhaut, which today exhibits a beautiful collection of paper cuttings and original vintage posters for the village and its region.
