About this poster

In 1931, a vote was held on the incorporation of several suburbs into the city of Zurich. The Zurich graphic artist Max Dalang designed this effective poster for the Yes campaign. Set against the dark backdrop of the city centre with the Grossmünster church, the YES lettering promises living space in a green environment. The bill was approved and the municipalities of Albisrieden, Altstetten, Höngg, Affoltern, Seebach, Oerlikon, Schwamendingen and Witikon were incorporated into the city. As a result, the city area doubled and the population rose from 250,000 to 320,000. Perfect, rare colour lithograph from the 1930s.
