About this poster

With the acquisition of the new large carrier in 1935, the Douglas DC-2, Swissair could now transport 14 passengers and operate in more frequent routes all year long. The very rare and impressive avantgarde photomontage poster of Herbert Matter was created 1936 for the Swiss National Tourist Office in various languages and versions: in a most grandiouse representation of the DC-2, Matter set the aircraft in the the breath-taking scenery of the Bernina snow-covered mountains with the exciting Piz Palü. Take attention of the later reproduction of Swissair in the 80s.
