About this poster

A very rare and remarkable object poster masterpiece by the famous Basel poster designer Peter Birkhäuser for OSRAM. In creating this hyper-realistic design, Birkhäuser, who had a strong passion for precision, brilliant colours and rich textures, used the difficult airbrush technique in the lithograph printing process. With this technique, he was able to make an object or product look real, sending an advertising message understood by everyone in a country with four national languages. Just by showing a wallet and a lightbulb, he conveys the simple message: Osram lightbulbs are cheaper than any other.
