About this poster
Otto Baumberger in this lovely vintage poster divides the space into three sections to demonstrate the richness of the Swiss landscape. In the lower section he portrays a beautiful lake scene, in the middle section the green fields on the counrty side and in the top part the glorious mountains covered with snow. With the band of typography holding the image togheter it becomes a harmonious and desirable advertising poster from 1952.

Otto Baumberger was born in Zurich in 1889. He served an apprenticeship as a lithographer and took courses at the Zurich Art School (Kunstgewerbeschule) from 1905 to 1907. After that, he studied at the Art Schools of Munich and Paris until 1910. From 1911 to 1913, he worked at the printing company J.E. Wolfensberger as a draughtsman and artistic director.
