About this poster
In the mid-1930s Johannes Handschin designed two stunning posters for Silvaplana which are among the most impressive travel posters for the Upper Engadine. He created the summer design for Silvaplana-Surlej in 1934 and the winter design one year later. Handschin skillfully applied airbrush technique to create a harmonious design, giving equal amounts of space to the clear Lake Silvaplana and the imposing mountain range.
