About this poster

One feature that distinguishes Swiss posters from those of other countries is the fact that painters were regularly invited to design them. As a result, images advertising tourism, public events, and even political organizations bear some of Switzerland's most notable artistic signatures. Hans Falk's unique style is immediately recognizable on the posters. He is more of an illustrator and painter than a poster designer, but his brilliant flair for poster design translates beautifully to large format. Here, with energetic strokes and bold colors, he applies his knowledge of graphic design (which he studied for a time) to create vivid farm scenes. OLMA is the annual Swiss fair for agriculture and dairy farming in St. Gallen.
