About this poster
The Zurich city police launched their very first anti-drug campaign with this poster in January 1969. It was designed by the then 23-year-old Andreas Fierz, who was studying at the Zurich School of Applied Arts. He submitted the design to a competition with the brief to warn parents about the dangers of drugs. The poster achieved national and international fame and caused shock among some and enthusiasm among others - many young people wanted to hang it on their walls at home. The Federal Department of Home Affairs named it one of the best Swiss posters between 1941 and 1991.
