The Helvetia foodstuffs factory was founded by Arnold Sennhauser in Zurich-Altstetten in 1906. The Helvetia brand mustard was added to the product range (which at the time included baking and pudding powders) in 1920. Besides the mustard tubes, there were special Helvetia mustard jars and pots which are still in circulation today. The company was incorporated in 1936 and moved to Zurich-Seebach in 1948. It no longer exists today, as it was closed down in 1971.
