Rickenbach, Walter (Numa Rick, 1902-1973)

Numa Rick (Walter Rickenbacher) was born 1902 in Basel, where he died in 1973.

Between 1918 and 1921, he was trained at the Basel School of Arts and Crafts. From 1924 to 1939, he lived in Paris and worked as a freelance designer and painter. From 1937 on he mainly worked for exhibitions like the World Exhibition in Paris, the Swiss National Exhibition in Zurich in 1939, the World Exhibition in New York in 1939 and the Swiss National Exhibition in Lausanne in 1964. He was a freelance graphic designer for chemical companies and taught at the Art School in Basel.
