Hervé Morvan

The French graphic designer Hervé Morvan was a counterpart to Raymond Savignac, lesser known but also commissioned to advertise major French products and brands of the 1950s and 1960s. Morvan began his career designing film posters, and once he moved into commercial advertising he created hundreds of posters like the memorable image for the French cigarette brand Gitanes that won the prestigious Prix Martini in 1961. The eye-catching image was also used on Gitanes cigarette packs and cartons.
