About this poster
Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann (Tobler's production manager and cousin) invented a unique chocolate in 1908: Toblerone! "Toblerone" is a play on words from the names "Tobler" and "Torrone", the Italian name for honey-almond-nougat. This rare object poster from 1954 shows the famous Toblerone, once wrapped and ready to eat. The triangle symbolises the Matterhorn, which appears as a reference on both sides of the packaging from 1970 onwards.
