The Pilatus Railway is the steepest cog railway in the world and opened in 1889. The following year, the Pilatus-Kulm Hotel opened its doors, and ever since then, guests have not only been able to travel in comfort right up to the top of the majestic Mount Pilatus, but also stay there overnight. This original poster from 1937 shows the breathtaking view that awaited guests at the top, whilst also highlighting the railway and the hotel in the foreground.
