About this poster

The venerable poster master Emil Cardinaux designed several posters for the Jungfrau Railway at the beginning of the last century, and most of them were printed by the "Wolfsberg" litho company. Here is an amazing, rare original lithograph poster showing winter hikers, notably one of them female, amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Jungfrau mountains. Emil Cardinaux had a deep love for nature, which shaped his style of composition. His enthusiasm for the Swiss mountains can also be seen in this composition. An absolute rarity and a must-have for a passionate collector and nostalgic lover of Cardinaux posters.
