Werner BISCHOF was one of the most important Swiss photographers. He was born in 1916 in Zurich and died in the Andes in 1954.
From 1932 to 1936, he studied photography at the School of Applied Arts (Kunstgewerbeschule) in Zurich and then worked in advertising. Actually, Bischof wanted to become a painter and was a member of the artists’ union “Allianz”.
