About this poster

The Irishman Edward Quinn (1920-1997) lived and worked as a photographer on the Côte d'Azur. His pictures of stars, celebrities and artists, taken in the south of France between the 1950s and 1970s, capture the unique charm, sophistication and chic elegance of this legendary time and place. In 1994, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich dedicated an exhibition to the photographer Quinn on the subject of ‘Nice’. Original poster from 1994 in perfect condition.

The Irish photographer Edward Quinn (1920-1997) lived and worked on the Côte d’Azur, a favourite spot for the stars, politicians, businesspeople, aristocrats and artists of the “Golden Fifties”. In Nice, Cannes and Monte Carlo he photographed celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot, Cary Grant, Churchill, Onassis and Grace Kelly. In 1951 he met Pablo Picasso and their friendship lasted for the rest of his life.... more
