About this poster

This fabulous, surreal avant-garde poster for a laundry company in Zurich was created by Robert Hardmeyer in 1905 and printed in small size. A proud rooster dressed in a freshly-laundered tuxedo shirt and a walking stick: this was such a unique vision and such a completely new style design that it created a visual shock, revolutionised advertising history and consequently became the company’s logo for one century. We offer the original large size poster printed in circa 1905, which is in excellent condition and still looks fresh off the press. One of the most important vintage Swiss posters, this rare Swiss classic is held in museum collections and prized by avant-garde collectors.
