About this poster

In the late 1940s, Herbert Libiszewski created a number of imaginative poster designs for Schaffhauser wool. The oversized skein of yarn on this 1948 poster seems to be ‘seated’ majestically on a large green armchair (echoing the green colour of the paper sleeve). This design humorously illustrates the importance and popularity of the “Schaffhauser Wolle” brand while at the same time possibly associating it with the feeling of domestic comfort.
