About this poster
The friendship between this child and the snowman will probably only last a short time - unlike the Wollen-Keller knitwear shop, which was founded in 1918 and could be found at Strehlgasse in Zurich for a long time. This lovely and humorous advertisement by the talented artist Jozsef Divéky dates from the 1950s. A rarity and perfect poster lithograph.
Artist: József Divéky
Born in Hungary in 1887, József Divéky studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1905 to 1907 and then at the Vienna School of Applied Arts until 1910. He moved to Switzerland in 1919; from 1941 he taught at the School of Applied Arts in Budapest. He also worked as a book illustrator and published in various journals. József Divéky died in Hungary in 1951.
