About this poster

Martin Peikert created many amusing and lively posters during the post-war years and became one of the most popular designers of Swiss travel advertising. His posters convey a sense of joie de vivre, health and cheerfulness in subjects such as children and ladies and are very popular in Switzerland as well as abroad. His legendary posters for many Swiss tourist resorts in the Bernese Oberland, the Engadine and the Valais are among the most sought-after. This lovely poster for Wengen shows the Jungfrau mountain and some sporty young skiers within a woman’s silhouette. A perfect stone lithograph from 1952.
