Villars (1300 m a/s) is a charming summer and winter resort in the canton of Vaud with a splendid panorama over the Rhône valley. Even if it has not quite kept pace with developments in such nearby resorts as Verbier, the village has retained a very Swiss feel of calm order and efficiency. Villars is connected to the vast lift system of Les Diablerets, one of the prettiest and least spoilt areas to be found in the Alps. The village centre is dominated by the Palace Hotel owned by Club Med.
