About this poster

To replace the international tourism that was absent during the war years, various measures were taken in the 1940s to boost winter sport tourism among the Swiss population. For example, winter sport holidays were introduced and discounts for transport tickets and ski courses were offered. This original poster designed by Herbert Libiszewski for the Swiss tourism board was one of the many advertising measures at the time that ultimately contributed to the Swiss self-image as a ski nation!
