About this poster

To promote the Swiss canton of Valais, Herbert Libiszewski chose a sun design as the main element, to which he added traditional elements. The verbal advertising messages describe the Valais as a “land of sun” or a “land of contrasts” for good reason. Libiszewski’s poster lithographs from the late 1940s are characterised by bold colours and clear, direct advertising messages. They are sought-after rarities for poster enthusiasts from the Valais.
