About this poster
Hans Thöni designed well-known travel posters for winter resorts in the 1930s and the famous “Der Kluge reist im Zuge” (smart people take the train) poster for the SBB in 1958. This design featuring a farmer in the traditional costume of an Alpine herdsman from Toggenburg was used by the Swiss tourist office to promote holiday travel within Switzerland during the Second World War. Here, the same design is used to advertise the Toggenburger biscuits produced by the Kägi company, which today is famous for its Kägi chocolate-covered wafers.
