Jules Glaser’s humorous take on Thomy’s mustard advertising created quite a sensation in the 1940s. His masterpiece is simple yet effective, showing not the mustard tube but the brand name - written in mustard! - and the tube cap. A very original design rendered with great skill and talent.

Jules Glaser was born in 1917 in Binningen, Basel-Land, spent his childhood in South America and returned to Basel at the age of 13. From 1933 to 1935, he apprenticed as an ornamental painter at the Basel School of Design.
