About this poster
The leading Zurich daily "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" is appreciated for its fine journalism in terms of politics, science, economy and art. and had at the time three issue a day. A great classic Swiss poster by Otto Baumberger, the Swiss Master of poster design. This extremely rare poster was printed as lithograph by the Wolfensberger printeres and has its place in museum collection and is prized by avant-garde poster collectors. This typographically strong poster is very cleverly arranged with the message that the three heads should stand for the claim of appearing three times a day?
Artist: Otto Baumberger
Otto Baumberger was born in Zurich in 1889. He served an apprenticeship as a lithographer and took courses at the Zurich Art School (Kunstgewerbeschule) from 1905 to 1907. After that, he studied at the Art Schools of Munich and Paris until 1910. From 1911 to 1913, he worked at the printing company J.E. Wolfensberger as a draughtsman and artistic director.
