Eugen Häfelfinger was born in Sissach in 1898 and died in Zurich in 1979. He was apprenticed as a painter at the Basel School of Design and studied figurative mural painting, among other things, in Dresden from 1921 to 1927. After a short stay in Paris he moved to Zurich in 1928 and worked as a graphic designer, painter, sculptor and stage designer.
