The 1950s heralded a new era in SBB advertising: the era of cheerful posters with witty graphic designs began. Designers such as Herbert Leupin were commissioned to bring warmth and heart to the Federal Railways’ advertising and make people smile. Herbert LEUPIN was born in Beinwil am See in 1916. He lived in Basel and later in his life he moved to the Italian part of Switzerland, where he died in 1999.
