About this poster
What an impressive, beautiful and very rare stone lithograph to advertise the crossing of the Alps by Postbus cabriolets in the early 1920s - slower than today - but it was certainly a unique treat for travellers. The Postbus rapidly replaced the stagecoaches in the 20th century and took on an important tourist function on the Alpine routes. This unique and highly collectible Art Deco poster by Emil Cardinaux impresses with its colours, print production and creative idea, as he was one of the most important artists for alpine poster advertising ever.
