The “Zürichsee-Schwebebahn” (Lake Zurich cable car) crossing Lake Zurich was one of the greatest attractions of the Swiss national exhibition (“Landi”) that took place in 1939. This poster designed by Albert Rüegg in the Zurich colours blue and white features happy Landi visitors in a gondola and the Zurich city lakefront below.

Albert Rüegg was born in 1902 in Zurich and died there in 1986. From 1918 to 1922 he served an apprenticeship as a graphic designer at the printing company J.E. Wolfensberger and took evening courses at the Zurich School of Applied Arts with teachers such as Otto Baumberger and Ernst Keller.
