About this poster

The spectacular White Turf horse race on the frozen St. Moritz lake had its 100th anniversary in 2007. The race course lies on a 50-cm layer of ice which can carry horses, cars and audiences. The so-called Skikjöring races were first held in Lapland and in 1906 for the first time on the street from St. Moritz to Champfèr. Today these races are exclusive events in the midst of the grand scenery of the Engadine mountains. Hugo Laubi first created the design in 1924 and then adapted its style in this later version of 1952.
