Eugen Bachmann (born 1942 in Hergiswil) first apprenticed as a painter and then studied graphic design at the Lucerne School of Applied Arts before working for the Swiss national tourist office in Zurich. He was responsible for graphic design at the Lucerne city theatre (Stadttheater) from 1975 to 1980 and at the Schauspielhaus Zurich from 1990.
