About this poster
The Basle designer Herbert Leupin’s best vintage posters are characterised by a precise and humorous style. They tell little stories, and often the punch line is in the link between the company name and the image. For the Hamburg cigarette brand Salem, Leupin created in the mid-1950s several posters and prove how surely Leupin was able to handle the various graphic techniques, free sketching and perfectly selected typographies.
