Comet Photo AG was founded in Zurich in 1952 by renowned press photographers such as Hans Gerber for the purpose of publishing exclusive, high-quality images in perfect enlargements. When the company went bankrupt in 1999, ETH Zurich took over around one million images and founded the Image Archive of the ETH Library. Comet Photo's motto ‘We photograph everything, everywhere, all the time’ is reflected in the extraordinary photo featured on this original poster for the Pizol mountain railways in 1966.
