About this poster

This picturesque view of the small town of Stein am Rhein by the Zurich artist Ernst Emil Schlatter was used to advertise the local pasta factory. The company was founded in St. Gallen by Johann Jakob Lieb in 1865 and relocated to Stein am Rhein in 1870. From 1912 they produced breadcrumbs as well as pasta and from 1963 concentrated only on breadcrumbs. In 2000 the company was renamed Bonviva and today it is Switzerland’s most important producer of breadcrumbs.
