About this poster
The versatile, humorous and inventive graphic designer Leupin used cartoonish characters for a number of his advertising posters in the 1940s. One of them is this unabashedly funny original poster for Opal cigars.

Herbert LEUPIN was born in Beinwil am See in 1916. He lived in Basel and later in his life he moved to the Italian part of Switzerland, where he died in 1999.
