About this poster

In the 1940s, at a time when exchange via telephone communication was enormously important, the creative and well-known Basel designer Herbert Leupin created this unique poster for the interest group Pro Telephon. This colour lithograph from 1941 shows a feather and the receiver of the fixed-line telephone apparatus that was developed in the 1920s. The juxtaposition of the two objects brings home to the viewer the immense progress of communications technology. A rarity.
