About this poster
The Stanserhorn railway, an electric funicular railway, was opened in 1893. Visitors could travel from Lucerne to Stansstad by boat and from there take the train to the Stanserhorn railway. At the summit, they could spend the night in the Hotel Stanserhorn Kulm, which opened at the same time as the railway. This is a beautiful and rare image of the Stanserhorn from the beginning of the last century, created by an unknown designer.
