During its twenty-year existence (1933-1953), the Lugano Swiss Fair was the most important economic and cultural event in the Canton of Ticino. It showed everything from machines and furniture to fashion and agricultural products and offered a cultural programme that included art exhibitions, music and opera performances. This original poster from the 1940s promoted the stand run by the Vaudois wine producers, where fair visitors could sample delicious wines from the canton of Vaud, most of which are grown on the shores of Lake Geneva.
