Iwan E. Hugentobler is considered one of the most important horse painters in 20th century Swiss poster art to advertise equestrian racing and events. Hugentobler, who worked for the Swiss racing industry for several years, designed most of his posters in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. They are much admired and valued worldwide.

Iwan Edwin HUGENTOBLER was born in Degersheim in 1886 and died in Zurich in 1972. He was a painter and graphic designer.
