Albert Chavaz (born 1907 in Geneva) initially apprenticed as a baker and then attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva and made educational trips to Paris and Italy. From 1935 to 1937 he helped Edmond Bille with the decoration of the church in Fully, Valais. Chavaz mainly worked on commissions for religious frescoes and mosaics and was awarded the Valais state prize.
