About this poster
The church of Madonna del Sasso is an important pilgrimage destination and lies on a spectacular rocky outcrop at 370 metres above sea level in the municipality of Orselina. From here you have a breathtaking view of Locarno, Lake Maggiore and the surrounding Ticino mountains. Daniele Buzzi, a native of Locarno, designed several travel posters for the canton of Ticino that are very popular and have become rarities.

Daniele Buzzi was born in Locarno in 1890 and died in Lausanne in 1974. He studied at the engineering school (Technikum) in Winterthur and then worked at Oerlikon-Bührle. From 1927 he was employed in Lausanne at the electric power company of Western Switzerland, where he worked as an engineer, technician and architect until 1963.
