About this poster

Illuminated in red and orange hues, the church of Madonna del Sasso thrones above Locarno and the Lago Maggiore in this 1926 poster. It is one of the best-known of Daniele Buzzi’s designs. The rich colours on this magnificent poster were lithographed using multiple stones. Daniele Buzzi is rightly considered to be the founder of Ticinese poster art. Like this early poster by Buzzi, his later Ticino posters are also rarities coveted by collectors.
