About this poster
The popular Chocolate company of Lejet in Trieste was opened in 1875 and closed in 1942. This humorous original poster in the typical style of Belle Epoque advertisements shows a Pierrot and a lute player feeding the laughing moon with chocolate. It was designed in 1890 by an unknown artist.
