About this poster

This unique poster is also an interesting document of Swiss air travel history. Zurich Airport, located in the Zurich town of Kloten, was planned in the 1940s with funding from the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Zurich. In a cantonal referendum in 1946, the Zurich taxpayers overwhelmingly agreed to the funding of the new airport. This unique poster by Rolf Bangerter may have played a role in this positive outcome!
